One of the comments I found interesting was, “We expect SEO spending to continue strong in 2004…” Companies that are tired of spending money on PPC like a water faucet will increasingly look to reputable SEO firms for guidance. That is not to say PPC is going away, or has matured, or anything like that. As marketing organizations within companies are increasingly held accountable, the drive towards finding cost effective tactics will simply increase.

BT Group announced today an alliance with McDonald’s to equip the fast food restaurant chain with high-speed wireless, Internet access in more than 500 locations across the U.K. BT will pay for installation costs, while the two companies will invest to promote the service in restaurants. The service promotion will begin at the end of January.

Too bad I don’t visit McD much - I’ll have to settle for Dunn Bros and Starbucks. However, if you are in the San Fran area, you can hook up.
