As part of Yahoo celebrating it’s 10th birthday, they’ve posted a cool “Yahoo! Netrospective” web page showing highlights over the past 10 years. Click on a thumbnail image and a popup window shows more information on that event and the opportunity to post comments.
Chris Sherman of SearchEngineWatch makes a great suggestion on another use of this tool:
“Hey, Yahoo - how about creating a search result page using the same technology for us to play with? 100 results, all above the fold, showing thumbnails of web pages. Click the thumbnail and show the title and description of the site. Now that would generate some serious attention.”
That would be very cool.
