Multilingual SEO

Posted by Lee Odden on Apr 22nd, 2005 in Online Marketing |

multilingual SEO
I don’t often highlight particular blogs here, but there is a new blog from my friend Andy Atkins-Kr?ºger of Web Certain that anyone interested in multilingual search engine marketing, particularly in Europe, should take note of.

The purpose of the blog is to bring information on the rapidly growing search market in continental Europe to a wider audience - easily accesible and summarized in English even if the source is not. Pretty nice feature for those of us who do not speak 3, 4 or 5 languages!

WonDir - The Live Question and Answer Site

Posted by Thomas McMahon on Apr 21st, 2005 in Online Marketing |

I stumbled across an interesting site today, WonDir. The idea is that you post any question you feel like asking and then wait for a live person to answer your question. Who answers the questions? Users like you! Users not only ask the questions but also answer them. If you see a question about a topic you know about, then feel free to answer. Questions range from home improvement to the Queen of England! Just ask and see what answers you get.

A Decade in Online Advertising
Longtime Internet marketing consultant Rick Bruner, now a Research Director at DoubleClick, has informed me he’s posted a new report on the past 10 years in online advertising:

Looking back at the history of Internet marketing, this report examines major changes afoot today, including the shift to a seller’s market, greater advertiser demand for accountability and greater demand from consumers for control.

Sure to be an interesting read for all those online ad people and PPC marketers out there.

Adobe Flash - Macromedia Gets Bought

Posted by Thomas McMahon on Apr 18th, 2005 in Online Marketing |

Today Adobe made public their intentions to buy Macromedia. This is a huge deal as Adobe and Macromedia have been competitors for years and make similar products. It is uncertain what will happen with the current Macromedia applications, however I hope Adobe does not just kill them off. Some have to go though. GoLive and Dreamweaver are very similar along with Freehand and Illustrator. Photoshop and Fireworks are different, however it’s uncertain if Adobe will see them that way. The only application we don’t have to worry about is Flash. Macromedia Flash overtook Adobe LiveMotion a few years back so that is one program Adobe will get that it doesn’t currently sell.
