I beleive that Internet users in general will start using tags as a way to find much more relevant information.

Thomas,

I agree with your point as you made it. However, tagging could be considered a form of catagoriztion. In 1878 the catagorization process was just starting out. Over the years, many more specific sub-catagories ( possibly "tags") were added to the developing taxonomies of each publication.

One publication I know very well has over 70,000 headings and sub-headings in their now online database. The sub-headings are so specific you wouldn't believe it. I think we're all in agreement, and it is just a matter of semantics ("latent semantic indexing", maybe - Big Smiley Face).

I think that was categorization. I think that if it were tags, Physicians would have things like 'child, adult, surgery, birth, emergency' associated with each doctor. Things that were more about what they specialize in. Overall they are Physicians, but what are they specifically?

"For those that are just jumping into the blog world, or the Web 2.0 world for that matter, there is a NEW idea out there called tagging. Much like folders or categories, it

Blogger is good, but it's more of the beginners platform in my mind. If you want to be really serious, get your own hosting and install Wordpress. They can even import all your Blogger posts. You just get more features and options and the freedom do really do whatever you want.

Thanks for the great advice. I have just tried to tag a few posts following your instructions and it works. However, is it me or this is really a pain in the neck on Blogger? Should I move to another blogging platform if I want to be serious about blogging?
