Small Business SEM Interview with Jon Glick of Become.com - Part 1, Part 2

I just noticed today that AllBusiness.com had posted the basic SEO videos from the shoot we did a month ago or so. Most of them are pretty short little snippets and turned out ok, but I think we’ll shoot some in our office so we can do multiple takes. I had very little sleep the night before and it appears my facial muscles have a mind of their own.
Dave Sifry has released his quarterly State of the Blogosphere report which informs us that Technorati is now tracking 57 million blogs.  With this report comes some fun blogging stats:
According to the report Technorati continues to spend quite a bit of time fighting spam blogs, or splogs.
FYI: Online Marketing Blog is ranked 1,179 out of 57,000,000 blogs.
Spotlight on Search - Interview with Google’s Adam Lasnik

One of the fun things about being involved with the search marketing industry is getting to meet really bright and interesting people. Whether they are long time SEO gurus, CEO’s of fast growing corporations or employees of the major search engines, this industry rarely disappoints with its variety of perspectives.
With the majority of search market share, most webmasters pay a significant amount of attention to Google. Google has done an increasingly good job of interacting with the webmaster community through the efforts of Matt Cutts and Vanessa Fox as well as Adam Lasnik. After having the chance to talk to Adam, I thought he and his job sounded pretty interesting and he agreed to do a short interview.

TIME Magazine has listed their best inventions for 2006 and YouTube has been named Invention of the Year:
“TIME‚Äôs 2006 list of the Best Inventions names YouTube as Invention of the Year for creating a new way for millions of people to entertain, educate, shock, rock and ‚Äúgrok‚Äù one another on a scale we‚Äôve never seen before. Three twenty-something guys named Steve Chen, Chad Hurley, and Jawed Karim started it, but the rest of us, in our basements and bedrooms, with our broadband and our webcams, invented it.”

Today I’ll be doing a presentation called, “The Truth About Search Engine Optimization” as part of the Visi Data Center 2.0 event.
Basically, the presentation will cover:
I believe there are 400-600 people registered, so it should be a great event. I suspect there may be a few competing (or coopetive) local firms and SEO consultants there, which is good for them because I’m giving out a lot of information in my 30 minutes. However, the presentation is meant for business owners that want to learn more reliable information about what SEO is and what it is not.
As part of my ongoing effort to share SEO, PR and social media blogs here is this week’s list:
SEOPedia - Cristian Mezei’s relentless blog of Diggable content featuring SEO and social media marketing.
Britopian Marketing Blog - Michael Brito’s blog on SEO and social media.
Social Media - Group blog featuring a collaboration of consultants: J.D. Lasica, B.L. Ochman, Jerry Michalski, Kelli Richards, Mark Weaver and Ross Mayfield.
Catherine “Cat” Seda - Cat’s been in the search marketing biz FOREVER and I had the pleasure of meeting her finally at last summer’s SES San Jose conference.
