There will be more of these from agency side marketers, but what would be really cool is something from client side marketers ala marketing sherpa's email event, except not marketing sherpa.

[...] Lee Odden is onto something, and you should be paying attention … SEO Training: Small is the New Big » Online Marketing Blog Have you noticed the number of regionalized or small scale search marketing conferences that are popping up?Jill Whalen has been running her High Rankings Search Engine Marketing seminar for a few years now (disclosure: I am a speaker for the Mpls event and my PR agency works with Jill) that is very hands on focused. The speakers all share a very similar philosophy about search marketing so there are not the mixed messages you get at larger events. [...]

I think these smaller conferences are a great idea. I would be more incline to register and pay for a smaller conference where I would have a better chance to rub elbows with the industries finest.

I should note that Elite Retreat is geared more towards publisher SEO than SEO consulting for clients. Although there is a lot of crossover knowledge.

The High Rankings seminar is geared towards client side marketers as well as consultants that provide SEO services to internal/external clients.

I want to make BIG money off looking over people's shoulders to offer information on compliant SEO for better longterm rankings in search engines like Google. Anyone want to break me off a chunk? ;0)

I was just thinking the same thing!

BTW, since August I've been running very small one day conferences. Just me and any client that pays my daily consulting fee. It's very exclusive, tailored training and in just about any city you'd care to fly me to. :-)
