Monday Online Marketing Links

Posted by Lee Odden on Mar 19th, 2007 in Online Marketing, Search Industry News |

Ha, it’s actually Tuesday morning here in Sydney. Am prepping for the first day of Search Engine Room and wanted to share a few links:

Just before leaving Minnesota for Australia, I received a copy of Cat Seda’s new book, “How to Win Sales and Influence Spiders” which focuses on leveraging SEO and online PR. I hope to have a review next week.

eComXpo starts Tuesday and runs through Thursday. This is a great virtual tradeshow that allows you to visit exhibitors and view presentations without the expense of traveling. With all the search marketing conferences and seminars popping up, this kind of platform might become even more popular than it is now for both attendees and speakers.

Aaron Weiche summarizes the Minneapolis High Rankings Seminar. I also received emails from several people that were very satisfied with the program.

Mike Grehan posts a good article on his ClickZ column today, “Move to a New Domain Without Losing Rankings (or Hair) “.

According to eMarketer, the big four portals (Google, Yahoo, AOL, MSN) are getting bigger, not smaller as others have predicted.

Larry Chase has published a new round of excellent resources in his Web Digest For Marketers Newsletter. This one is focused on “Essential Internet Marketing ROI Tools” which includes tools for landing pages, email, PR and marketing.

Chris Winfield of 10e20 gets married. Congrats to Chris and Danielle!

Depends on how you choose to look at them.

If you look at them from the point of view of a whole, then yes.

However, most of these guys are now stepping down and operating in niche areas.

A good example of this middle-aged spread would be Yahoo! who are really chasing down that mashup thing and turning out some very interesting social applications…

  2. Hey Wayne, I guess that’s true of online media overall - the move towards niche.

  3. [...] Lee Oden has a post today on Monday Online Marketing Links. One of the links was a mention of Cat Seda’s new book, “How to Win Sales and Influence Spiders” which focuses on leveraging SEO and online PR.  Well, of course I went over and took a look at how she might suggest we leverage SEO and PR. I was surprised and disappointed when I was face to face with that long toilet paper roll page that goes on forever…but wait, there’s more! Yes, after you scroll down and see that the book is priced at $24.99 you get the standard not one or two but three bonus offers-enough already! [...]
