Well I have adSense ads on my site, so I think it's safe to say that would be "advertising for competitors of the Sponsor" no matter how that is interpretted. But then again, maybe I could win the judges over with an essay that says:

"Winning the contest and $25K of Yahoo! Search Marketing would help my company succeed because with it we could generate at least another $25K of adSense revenue."

Here's an interesting eligibility requirement:

"the Business Website does not display, during the term of the Promotion, any advertising for competitors of the Sponsor;"

Does that mean entrants can't display any advertising provided by a Yahoo! competitor (no adSense ads)? Or does that mean entrants can't display advertising for any product or service that competes with a Yahoo! product or service (travel site, fantasy football site, etc)?

In fact, any online ad or affiliate program could technically be construed as a competitor to the Yahoo Publisher Network.

Sounds good. I considered entering and read all the details. You have to be a US resident though so that will count a few of your readers out (like me) :(
