Blogging Search Engine Strategies San Jose

Greetings Online Marketing Blog readers! In just one week I’ll be attending my first Search Engine Strategies conference in San Jose! After reviewing the week’s sessions, I am thrilled at the opportunity to learn about what’s new in the industry and to finally meet (in person) some of our clients from the bay area!

I am most excited about Day 1’s session on “Searcher Behavior” moderated by Enquiro’s Gord Hotchkiss who has been interviewed here before. As some of you may know, based on Lee’s introduction in a previous post, I was to pursue my PhD in the field of psychology. Needless to say, I am fascinated by psychological as well as sociological interactions as they relate to searcher behaviors and am eager to see what insights this session will bring.

Also of interest to me is the session on “Video Search Optimization”. As I journey deeper into my role at TopRank first as a SEM specialist and now as an Account Manager, I am finding that I have a natural proclivity to social media. Learning more about the competitive advantages of optimizing multiple media formats like video over plain text optimization is something I am very interested in.

Another session I plan on attending is “Link Bait & Viral Marketing” to see if there’s anything new and different compared to the wide range of link building and site promotion tactics we employ for our clients.

Most of all, I am looking forward to being immersed in what’s new in the world of search marketing and what types of behavioral patterns and trends can be discerned from the experience. Keep a lookout for upcoming blog posts on these sessions and more, as I’ll be frequently writing about my experience at this year’s SES conference in San Jose.
