[...] Honestly, it’s about time. In fact, I’m surprised that Thomas McMahon didn’t think to include it to round out his 9 Wishes for a Better Yahoo. I wouldn’t be surprised, however, if it’s too little too late. Google has had a leg up on them for ages, and absorbed YouTube in one fell swoop. Yahoo, on the other hand, it trying to create their own store of video content, and that just might take time that they don’t have. [...]

[...] Make Every Word Pay. The Aggressive Business Blogger’s ZEN is spending as little time as possible writing while maximizing the possibility of inciting a viral response. Stream-of-consciousness external linking and bread crumbing tactics exploit inherent human tendencies to congregate in human buzz pockets, be voyeurs and remain anonymous. Social media mirrors physical life. Committed to blogging means to TOTALLY do it, No Matter What. Average content doesn’t count.
Thomas -

I 100% agree with #7. We have not seen much improvement in Site Explorer lately. Yahoo needs to follow Google's lead and provide tools similar to those found in Webmaster Central. Specifically I'd like to see some indexing stats.

Well, Yahoo has been playing with too many things at one go. It has always been a online media company more than anything else. I should view Yahoo as the biggest Web 2.0 service provider ever born. They are like a media publishing company (in fact I think they are) who brings news near to us in a more personal way. If I am not wrong, they are almost fully human-managed online service when compared to Google which almost had everything automated by the computer.

The very first thing I would want to see is for
1) the yahoo main search page to be a real search page.
2) Remove all the services that are not search-related.
3) Have a better spam filtering for my yahoo email.

Anyway, looks like Yahoo's niche is now more towards an online media company... Perhaps they could consider going into this area in a big way...
