Andy, you are talking about something old, something traditional. But what about the buyer or customer? If he is busy in home, office or anywhere else and can't reach your dealer personally, then what should he do? Either he can call or simply send email to ask what he wants. Email is more authenticated way as you can have a complete record of your correspondence and you can reply or forward it wherever you want. But anyway, I am not saying you are wrong but we can increase our potential customers and sales by adopting new ways of business and promotion. If I shall point out a little then I will definitely make sure that logic must be sound and practicable.

[...] Navigating a Market Dead End is a good post about taking a hard look at your marketing medium. Does direct mail work better than email? Maybe. If you don’t know what works for your business, you had better find out before you spend any more money. [...]

That's weird. The dealers by you actually close their lots so you can't drive around them after hours? The dealerships here in Iowa don't gate off their lots. You can cruise around the lots at all hours of the night and on Sundays. I know this isn't the point you were trying to make, I just have never seen a locked lot here.

Yes, agreed that in some situations direct mail work more than email. Every method has its benefits and drawbacks. Now, the thing is that the new method which is invented and improved for the easiness of human should be promoted widely. There is a need to create awareness that how to use the new methodology. Many show rooms are now working online successfully and there rate of transactions and profitability has increased amazingly. They use smart and effective way of promotion and get instant feedback from their customers throughout the country.
