After reading through this discussion, I can't tell you how excited I am about where the future of PR is headed. I'm barely two years into the industry and already so much has changed with the way we communicate with one another and build relationships that seeing what's next truly excites me.

Twitter probably won't be around in the next 5 years. In all honesty, I feel it will be pretty much obsolete before the 5 year mark. However, it's a jumping off point. Twitter has given us a way to connect with people that we've never experienced before, what's going to be the "next big thing" in networking and communication?

I agree that Twitter won't be around in 5 years — well, it might still be around, but not so widely used. It's too simple, and while it has caught on, it isn't likely to have long lasting staying power IMO.

Great discussion. Also, I believe as Social Networking gains more momentum in the PR space, employers who previously locked their employees out of it will rethink their decisions. I'm sure the same thing happened with the phone way back in the day Nice post.
