I too thought that this was very intersting. With having a buddy live there I have visited Vegas a few times. Becaues being there so much I didn't think that there would be a need for social media as well, but in today's world, it is a huge issue. If a company wants to spread their name, that is where they do it. I also think that using social media, especially how the Hilton uses it is, important. Also if its not just the company interacting with advertising, if the employees themself are doing it, it just spreads the brand name that much more. Again this article was very intersting.

I thought this was very interesting how such large companies and service providers were late in realizing the utility of the social media. But I most surprised at how creative the Hilton is using social media to market to advertise. Having individual employees interact in the advertising to spread the brand name. I thought this was one of the best ways in reaching customers.

This was very interesting to read. With as many times as I've stayed at hotels in Las Vegas, I didn't think there was a need for social media when it comes to these huge hotel names. I want to let you all know that the hotels listed here are awesome and I have enjoyed staying at them all.

I like how the Hilton is doing the toys for tweets. It is good that major corporations in Las Vegas are looking out for those in need as well. Las Vegas definitely needs more generosity from major corporations to help with the local recovery.

Thanks! We've really enjoyed connecting with our guests and fans in real time. It's helped us provide even more value to our customers (like the PHanatic Pass http://tr.im/phdpass) and it's FUN!

Some surprisingly sophisticated things going on here. The “confessions campaign” by MGM Grand is particularly creative, and fits nicely into both the Vegas theme and people's attraction to voyeurism. I also thought this was interesting:

"We do things like give out last minute concert tickets to our followers and promote little things that might not be worth a press release."

Someday the two will be reversed (if they aren't already).
