When a website is interesting for visitors and has a function, and that function isn't just an affiliate 'click my adds' stuff; then marketing the site using social media is made all the easier because the positive attributes genuinely give you a reason to promote the site.

I am currently reading Engage! right now. It is quite comprehensive. Brian does a good job of laying out many of the academic principles, but blogs and other sources of how-to information really help in showing how to apply the steps.
