This week I’ll try something a little different with our BIGLIST of online marketing blogs reviews and share a screen shot of the week’s best looking SEO blog to be added.

That honor goes to Mikkel deMib Svendsen who’s been blogging for a very long time, except it’s been mostly in Danish.

Recently, Mikkel decided to launch a SEM blog in English, which is great news if you know Mikkel.  At my first SES conference I recall seeing this guy in a bright red suit taking lots of photos and not sure who he was. Then after seeing him speak on a few panels quickly realized the deep search marketing knowledge he was offering.  Now you can get that insight online. This blog is a mix of both text and video SEO content, plus Mikkel has a new book on SEO you should check out.

Remember the Grinch? “Noise, noise, noise!”  Many marketers feel the same way about the plethora of search marketing blogs. We’ve been managing a list of over 500 search marketing blogs (BIGLIST) for the past 3+ years and know a little something about the category. SEO blog reviews are helpful, but some people want a qualifyer when deciding what’s noise and what’s worth checking out. That’s why we’ve assembled a top SEM blogs list ranked by RSS Subscribers. The first list is here.

Below is an updated list of 26 top Search Marketing Blogs with Google Webmaster Central dominating followed by upward movement by SEOMoz and Search Engine Land.  Online Marketing Blog, Marketing Pilgrim and Graywolf’s Blog have seen big increases as well. We’ve also added several blogs that made the 2,000 subscribers cutoff. Enjoy:

Here in Minnesota it’s been a roller coaster summer with hot smacking up against cold in the blink of an eye. The irony of that observation is that our BIGLIST of online marketing blogs has been cold for about 4 months, but just like a Minnesota summer, we’re going to smack that BIGLIST with some hot. Hot SEO/SEM/Social blogs that is. Enjoy:

• B2B Online Marketing Blog – The folks at Business.com have put together a fine resource for B2B businesses and marketers with a problem/solution format that includes case studies, conference coverage and insights on search, social media and a few Business.com product posts from time to time.

• Adam Sherk Blog – Adam Sherk works as a Search/PR Strategist for Define Search Strategies, part of The New York Times Company and writes about the publishing industry, enterprise SEO and social media.

The week is nearly done and Spring is nearly here. Unless of course, you live in the “Never Summer Land” of Minnesota, where we’re apparently destined to enjoy a balmy 35-50 degrees indefinitely.  

Take a break from your daily dose of social media overstimulation and work focused multi-tasking to check out a new batch of the TopRank BIGLIST search marketing blogs.  This week’s update includes a mix of new and familar names: 

• SEO Wizardry - Pete Hollier is an information science type of guy that writes informative and often illustrated posts about various aspects of search engine optimization and some on PPC.

• Future Searches –  UK based and multi-lingual, Pelin B. Demir writes all about search marketing from SEO to link building to social media.

We’ve been reviewing the TopRank BIGLIST of  search marketing blogs  for over 2 years, starting in January 2007. In that time we’ve reviewed nearly 1,000 blogs covering internet marketing and search marketing related topics.

Blog features we like include: Design, On-topic to SEO, Social Media and Internet Marketing, an About page (for the blog specifically), Categories and Frequency (at least once per week). • Daily SEO Tip - Search Marketing blog guru Loren Baker and SEO smartie, Ann Smarty have partnered to deliver practical, usefuland often creative SEO tips that are good for new pracitioners as well as experienced online marketers.

 In this update of the TopRank BIGLIST of  search marketing blogs  we have a mix of new and old, funny and serious. We hope you find these blogs as informative and interesting as we do. Enjoy:

• Mediatrust Blog – Peter Bordes, Trip Foster, Scott Parent and Christopher Smith combine to write this agency blog about everything from performance marketing to industry news to company news. The best part of the blog is the video series, “Relevantly Speaking”, which is nicely produced and informative.

• Outspoken Media Blog – New blog for a new consortium of SEOs (Rhea Drysdale, Rae Hoffmann, Lisa Barone) that have no problem saying or writing what’s on their minds. Still new, most posts are announcements or live blogging from SMX West but hopes should be high for a range of internet marketing topics . 

Today’s BIGLIST update of search marketing blogs includes a smattering of agency blogs from the US and the UK as well as appearances from Poland and Singapore. Step right up and get your daily dose of SEO, social media and PPC with this collection of new entrants.

• The Whoa Factor - Brad Shorr and  Jeanne Dininni write this insightful company blog (Whoast) about search engine marketing topics, especially SEO. 

• Latitude Group - This UK based search marketing agency blog posts the gamut of internet marketing topics including Affiliate, Email, PPC, SEO, Social Media and Analytics. Company news and case studies can be found as well.

• Sazbean Blog -  Sarah and Aaron Worsham post about a wide range of internet marketing topics including strategy, marketing, design, and technology in this well written blog that also includes a nice “Morning Edition” collection of links post.

Agencies and Eurpoean blogs make up most of our reviews of this week’s BIGLIST of search marketing blogs with several less than 6 months old. Blogs are a great way for agencies to demonstrate expertise as well as personality to help potential clients get a handle for who they might be working with. TopRank can attest to this after 5 years of writing our own agency blog.

• Saad Kamal – This is a very nicely designed SEO blog that covers industry news and tools with commentary/opinion, hot picks, and tips with a focus on search marketing for bloggers and small business. Saad lives in Malaysia but works for a SEO agency based in Toronto.

It’s a new year and a new update to TopRank’s BIGLIST of search marketing blogs. The BIGLIST, like many of our readers undoubtedly, suffered a bit of bloat over the holidays, so we’ve resolved to trim things up a bit and recently removed over 50 blogs for inactivity or changing focus from search and social media marketing. That mini purge made the BIGLIST hungry so here’s an update of new additions focusing on all manner of internet marketing topics. Fire up your RSS reader and enjoy.

• Always be Testing -  Andy Edmonds, the Chief Scientist at StomperNet blogs about ecommerce analytics with useful how tos and several interesting tools like the Transaction Funnel Explorer or the Analytics UI Section Link Tagger. What would be even better is if Andy posted more frequently.

Welcome to the BIGLIST SEO Blog review update – Las Vegas Airport Edition.  McCaron airport is like every other airport I spend time in except there’s free internet access. And that’s the reason I can bring this BIGLIST update to you today.

• SearchEngineWorld – One of several sister sites to WebmasterWorld, this long time search marketing site has been reinvented and active in the past few months featuring news posts by Lane R. Ellis as well as conference coverage and video posts with Brett Tabke and Vanessa Zamora.

• PPC Blog – Giovanna Wall publishes this self titled sister site to Aaron Wall’s SEO Book site covering all things pay per click including each major ad platform, affiliate, contextual and local search. There’s also a nice collection of PPC focused tools.

• beu blog - As well as being very active in the SEM industry, Brian Ussery is an Atlanta based SEO known for his expertise with Flash and SEO, writes a wide range of topics but mostly focuses on search engine optimization and Google related topics.

• Being Peter Kim – Previously with Forrester Research, Peter Kim now works with an Austin based strategic consulting practice that is developing an enterprise class Social Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) suite. He continues to blog about social computing, social media marketing and insights of high value to internet marketers and business leaders.
