SES Chicago Clicktracks Party

One cannot go an evening at a Search Engine Strategies conference without some type of revelry and Wednesday night was no exception. Clicktracks delivered an encore of sorts by having a party at B.L.U.E.S. which is where TrueLocal had a party two days prior.

ClickTracks Party SES Chicago
Guests were treated to drinks, food and the musical stylings of Chico Banks and the Candy Lickers – yep, that’s right. There was an additional singer to rev things up (didn’t catch his name though) added after a few songs.

As you can see John and Laura Thieme got up and put it down on the dance floor along with other SES party goers.

Thank you to Dan and John of ClickTracks for a great party!

ClickTracks at Pubcon

Lee Odden on Nov 16th, 2006     Marketing PR Conferences, Online Marketing, Pubcon, Web Analytics

One vendor you’re sure to see at virtually every SES and Pubcon conference is web analytics company, ClickTracks. I had the pleasure of speaking at a few DMA conferences at the same time as ClickTracks founder John Marshall and found him to be one of the most enthusiastic evangelists for web analytics in the industry. On top of that he’s really a very good guy.

John and his VP of Marketing, Michael Stebbins took out a few ClickTracks’ freinds for dinner on Tuesday night and it proved to be some of the best conversation. I cannot emphasize enough, the importance of networking after the daytime sessions are over.

ClickTracks Merges Now Offers Services Including SEO

Lee Odden on Aug 21st, 2006     Marketing Industry News, Online Marketing, Web Analytics

Early this morning I received an email from John Marshall (as did other bloggers and pubs) announcing the merger of ClickTracks into a group of companies owned by J.L. Halsey that includes: Lyris, EmailLabs, and Hot Banana in a deal worth about $10 million.

I must say, congratulations to John, he’s a great guy, entertaining speaker, smart and very passionate about web analytics. The combined resources of the J.L. Halsey companies is sure to help ClickTracks offer a very valuable set of services to each group of customers as well as attract a new set of clients.

I am posting about this a little late because I wanted to make sure I had a chance to get some additional questions answered first.

ClickTracks Appetizer

ClickTracks has jumped on board with free stats. ClickTracks Appetizer gives you several of the popular ClickTracks features. Just enough to make you want to buy more, or so they think.

Included is all the general stats information like top keywords and referrers plus a few popular features.

Visitor Labeling – Through a simple mechanism known as visitor labeling, you can color-code visitors from a PPC campaign; visitors who found each page through a certain keyword; visitors who spent a very long or very short time on a page; and much more.

Visual Interface – See where visitors go, how long they stay and from which page they exit. This is superimposed over your site so you can see exactly where people are going.

ClickTracks Adds Click Fraud Detection, SEO Tools

Lee Odden on Feb 27th, 2006     Marketing Industry News, Marketing PR Conferences, Search Engine Strategies, Web Analytics

Version 6.1 of ClickTracks was released today with several new features:

  • Click fraud reporting technology
  • New Robot View report that allows marketers to see their site as search engine spiders see it
  • Integrated keyword ranking that shows the actual search engine ranking of traffic-producing keywords

From the press release:

ClickTracks’ detection works by comparing a variety of statistical measurements across all campaigns. The Click Fraud report requires no additional setup, and allows marketers to substantiate suspicious campaign behavior by generating a report suitable for submission to the PPC provider.

The other interesting feature lets you see search engine rankings (Google, Yahoo! and MSN) for keyword phrases by the traffic they attract to the site. You can then compare rankings to the number of visitors, time on site, cost, revenue and ROI.
