Online Marketing Blog readers may remember a while back that our blog was shut down by a previous host with no warning because of too much load on the shared server. When they did finally respond/contact us it was to sell an upgrade while web requests for our site returned a 404 not found message.

We turned to a local web hosting company, VISI, for a dedicated server and things have been running smoothly ever since. Our experience with VISI is documented on this post, “VISI - A Web Hosting Company That Rocks“.  We’ve been hosting with VISI for over 1 1/2 years and we’ve had very rare if any reason to contact them. When it comes to hosting, that’s a very GOOD thing.

Readers of Online Marketing Blog for the past few months might remember our hosting trials and tribulations with a good but unprepared host and then the less than desirable activities of Pair Networks. We moved to a dedicated server with Minneapolis web site hosting company VISI for hosting OMB and since it’s been over a month I thought I’d give an update.

We currently use VISI for the hosting or our public relations firm web site, email and a dedicated server for Online Marketing Blog along with an array of support.

If you follow the goings on at Online Marketing Blog, you’ll know we’ve had some issues with hosting the past few months. We had outgrown our host of 2 1/2 years and the subsequent host we moved to was not prepared to deliver the service we signed up for.

When looking for a new host, we realized there was already a proven hosting company right in our backyard that we’ve had experience with. Sometimes the thing you need is right in front of you and you don’t see it right away.
