Reader Poll: Best SEO Podcasts

Lee Odden on May 24th, 2007     Online Marketing, Podcasting, Reader Polls

Along with other forms of media coverage on the topics of search and online marketing, internet radio has been a great source of content for listening live or via podcast. Some SEO podcasts and online radio are basic and others are very professionally produced. The content varies greatly as well from industry gossip to practical tactics.

Earlier this week I ran an informal poll with about 40 respected search marketers and almost half admitted they didn’t listen to podcasts much, if at all. In fact, some were publishers of podcasts that didn’t listen to other podcasts. Is is it the case that these people were so busy with clients, speaking, writing, testing that they didn’t have time?

Spotlight on Search – Interview with Daron Babin of WebmasterRadio.FM

There are many success stories on the web and one of the most interesting is WebmasterRadio.FM. The brainchild of Old, Old School SEO Daron Babin and his partner Brandy Shapiro, WebmasterRadio.FM has become the “go to” resource for live streaming radio and podcasts on all things related to search and interactive marketing.

After threatening Daron with sex, fame and a nice hangover, he succumbed to answering a few questions about how he got into the SEO game, what’s up with New Gen Media and his evil plan for a multi media search engine and delivery platform.

Tell us about your background, how did you get involved with search marketing?

Live from the GooglePlex Danny Sullivan and Matt Cutts

Lee Odden on May 11th, 2006     Interviews, Marketing Industry News, Online Marketing, SEO

Next week there will be a “must listen” SEO Rockstars and Daily SearchCast show on WebmasterRadio.fm. The show will start out with Todd Friesen (oilman) and Greg Boser (webguerilla) and then cut to a 45 min Danny Sullivan interview with Matt Cutts at the GooglePlex and back to Friesen and Boser. The show airs Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. EST.
If you can’t wait and just need an audio fix of Mr. Cutts, then point your iPod over to Mike Grehan’s recently posted clip of a podcast interview he did with Matt Cutts at the GooglePlex last week. Of course there’s also this podcast interview with Matt Cutts that Chris Pirillo did at Search Engine Strategies NYC.
As long as I’m on the topic of SEO and podcasts, here’s a podcast of the fireside chat on organic seo session with Barbara Coll and Bruce Clay from ad:tech in San Francisco. (via iMediaConnection) I think they do a handy job of sizing up their audience and providing great overview information on organic SEO.

Barry Diller Live on WebmasterRadio.FM

Barry Diller is giving the keynote this morning at SES and it will be available live from my favorite internet radio station, WebmasterRadio.FM. The keynote is at 9am EST so be sure to visit WebmasterRadio.FM and click the “tune in” button. A podcast of the SES keynote with Barry Diller will be available shortly after.

I ran into Daron Babin last night and there are few, more enthusiastic (or experienced) search marketers/entreprenuers in our industry quite like him. He and Brandy Shapiro have done some amazing things with WebmasterRadio.FM the past 2 years, and there’s more in store.¬† Hopefully, I’ll have details on that in a future post.
