Favorite Feed Vote and Update

I received an email the other day from a site called Search Engine Feeds claiming to be running a Favorite Search Engine Feeds vote for the next month or so. You can nominate your SEO or search engine related blog. If you’re in the mood, feel free to vote for “Top Rank Blog” near the bottom.

Posting has been REAL light lately because we are running at full speed here at TopRank. We’ve been very fortunate to sign on some fantastic projects in the past few months. The number of blog consulting and blog marketing projects has increased tremendously and I think it’s an indication from the business community that blogs are becoming more accepted as marketing tools and not just virtual podiums for pontification.

Next week Thomas and I fly out to Boston for the WebmasterWorld Pubcon conference. Am really looking forward to it as Brett has really put together a great lineup of speakers and sponsors. I’m also looking forward to catching up with some East Coast SEO friends and seeing some of Boston., maybe even some of the Boston marathon.

Thomas showed me a cool tool today called iRows. It’s a web based spreadsheet tool that you can organize by tags and import/export excel documents to. Excellent for remote team collaboration.

Several months ago, our regional interactive marketing association (MIMA) launched a SEO/SEM discussion thread using Yahoo Groups. It’s at about 70 members now and we’ve started meeting offline. Tonight will be the third time and I’m looking forward to meeting everyone. I’m the moderator and I missed the first two times – isn’t that bad of me? 🙂

There’s a lot of talented SEO and SEM practitioners here in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St. Paul) and this group has been very useful for sharing information – even between competitors. That’s what I call, “coopetition”.

  1. That’s a good suggestion, re: doing a post about “coopetition” and I may just do that. Am glad you like the blog. I just wish I had more time to spend on it.

  2. Great post Lee! Glad you guys are seeing success and that the projects are lining up for your team. PubCon should be a good one this time and I hope there is a lot of blogging while it goes on since I am hardly able to attend the East coast ones.

Maybe you can write a post about “coopetition” and what it means to you to be able to Network with your competitors for the greater good of the industry.

Congrats on being included in the Featured Feed Sources site and contests. You have a great blog that has seen a lot (even the old blogspot one was really good). I hope you get tons of votes and rank high after the contest results are displayed and the winners are chosen!

Yeah – Coopetition = good linkbait IMO

Time is always an issue with a GOOD SEO! I find it is harder to even be a good blogger these days with so many others posting about such creative topics and insights. Sometimes our colleagues amaze me with their thought processes, research findings and new developments for the industry.

This reminds me of a post I read regarding Inhouse SEO’s.

  4. Thanks for the information!

Lee, Congrats to you and the team for placing within the top 5 in our voting contest to find some of the best search engine related feeds and syndicated content on the Net!

    What you got:

    1. A mention in the top post on the Featured Feeds blog.

    2. Site wide links on the Search Engine Feeds main sidebar.

    3. Prominent placement within your categories on Featured Feed Sources here and here.

    4. Your articles, news and posts syndicated into the MAIN online marketing feeds category on Search Engine Feeds (I believe all the bottom articles are yours, except the last one).

We are still developing and making changes to the site, and have many more things planned for the near future, however your participation and support has been much appreciated and we hope you continue to participate in other events and contests within the industry and on Featured Feeds.

    Happy SEOing!
