Search Marketing Blogs Update 010507

The list of search marketing (and related) blogs last week drew a ton of attention and quite a few inclusion requests. There were a few blogs that I tried to find but could not (crazy concept for the SEO community) and now there are several that popped up via comments, emails and trackbacks that I will be adding.

Tips for getting on this list:

  1. Write about marketing online, especially search marketing
  2. Content and/or commentary on news should be unique
  3. Post recently. If you haven’t posted in a month, it’s unlikely I’ll add you. If you only post once a month, that’s unlikely as well
  4. Get on the blogroll of other bloggers on the list
  5. Take it easy on the AdSense ads getting in the way of your content. I’m not a fan of AdSense blogs at all
  6. Link to the search marketing blogs list and I’ll see link in our stats, which will prompt me to look at your blog

Here is this week’s list of blogs added to my RSS reader. This is a bit longer list than normal due to a few blogs I missed, some that I wanted to include but could not find and a few recently launched blogs:

  • 5 Star Affiliate Programs Blog – Linda Buquet blogs about affiliate marketing, contextual advertising and marketing online.
  • About: Web Search – Wendy Boswell covers the search engines for About.com.
  • Ask Kalena – Kalena Jordan, who is NOT chopped liver, offers search engine tips and advice. 🙂
  • Caveman – New blog for Scott Smith on organic search and marketing.
  • Compete Blog – Online trends and insightful findings from the team at Compete.com.
  • E-Marketing Performance – Stoney deGeyter and the team from Pole Position Marketing offer up search marketing information to render your competition powerless.
  • I Love Jack Daniels – Dave Child offers a nice mix of design, development, cheats and marketing.
  • Marketallica – Top digg user Ozgur Alaz offers fresh marketing trends and ideas from Istanbul.
  • Marketing.fm – Lee Jones Eric Friedman post about online marketing and advertising.
  • Marketing Logic – Matt Bailey, one of my favorite conference speakers, blogs about search marketing, analytics and usability.
  • Modern B2B Marketing – Jon Miller of marketo blogs about BtoB marketing online.
  • Nielsen Technical Services Blog – Another long-time Minneapolis based SEO blogs about the search engine marketing industry.
  • No NonSense Internet Marketing – A true geek in the best sense, Bruce Hopkins markets his own sites and blogs about SEO and AdSense.
  • PhilC’s Ramblings – Phil Craven shares his thoughts on search engines and search marketing.
  • Scoreboard Media – Brian Provost’s fairly new blog covers topics ranging from digg to link building, reputation management and of course, Google.
  • SEM Research – Search engine and social media marketing by Chris Sandberg and others.
  • SEO SEM In House Blog – Jessica Bowman, now Director of SEO for Business.com, offers up an in-house SEO perspective.
  • The Men of SEO – Y.M. Ousley aka SEO Fangirl gives up the skinny on her favorite SEOs.
  • The Preston Blog – Preston Wily writes a blog for internet retailers.
  • Tropical SEO – Andy Hagans starts yet ANOTHER blog. Where does he find the time?
  • Unofficial SEO Blog – Navneet Kaushal posts news about the SEO industry.
  • viperchill blog – Glen and the team at UK based viperchill focus on all things to do with search engine optimisation. Yeah, with an “s”!

The OPML file has been updated as well as the master list of search marketing blogs.

  1. Thanks Igor. The idea for the large list is to offer people a somewhat filtered list of resources to choose from. Am glad we made your top ten!

  3. Lee, thanks for the inclusion… and I didn’t even have to barter, beg, plead or offer any unmentionable personal services (not that I would!). Seriously, I appreciate the inclusion and the exposure!

  4. NP Stoney, I hope it sends a few visitors your way!

  5. Hi Lee,

Congrats, very impressive work. I discovered it via Chris Sherman ( http://searchengineland.com/070109-130325.php ) and about Search Engine Land, I really wonder now who is really still reading Search Engine Watch ( http://www.marketingpilgrim.com/2007/01/are-you-still-reading-search-engine-watch.html )?
I think it should be a nice poll to run. I can’t do it on my blog, a french one :-(, but maybe you could 🙂
