Social Media Marketing Software & Management Tools

Tools make reaching social media marketing goals possible. Whether you’re a soloprenuer or a multinational enterprise, it’s nearly impossible to manage a social media marketing program without using 3rd party tools.

During your journey through the 3D chess of social media tool options, you’ll have many decisions to make: Which tool should you start with? Should you use specialized or multi-purpose tools? What features distinguish basic from intermediate to advanced and when should you upgrade?

With the help of Emeric Ernoult (CEO of AgoraPulse, which is included in the list), we’ve updated our list of social media marketing management tools to help lead you in the direction of answering those questions. The list below contains information on 22 of the best social media marketing management tools, platforms and services to help manage and scale your online marketing efforts on the social web.

How to use the list: To help you navigate the list, we’ve split it into two segments:

  • Self-service tools (between $10 to $200 per month, many of which offer free trials)
  • Enterprise tools (typically starting at $1,000 per month, that require a demo with their team to get started)

Which is the best tool for you? Typically, self-service tools are best suited for small and medium businesses and enterprise tools are best suited for large organizations. However, there are exceptions to every rule, so we urge you to research and tools that best meet your company’s needs.

Getting Started with Social Media Marketing Management Tools and Software

Although the most robust platforms – the ones with every kind of tool imaginable – might seem like the best, that’s not always the case. Tool selection should be entirely dependent on the unique needs of your organization.

What social media marketing dashboards, software and management tools from the list above have you tested or used? Reviews, observations, insights and questions are greatly appreciated!

Obviously, tools are only as good as the expertise of the people using them. TopRank Marketing is always interested in helping companies develop their social media marketing strategy and as part of our consulting services, we can help identify the right tools for implementing a successful social media marketing program.

If there is an enterprise level tool dedicated to social media marketing management that you feel we’ve left out, please be sure to share it in the comments.

  4. Louis Sokol says:

Very nice list plus great descriptions too. I would add Social Oomph for managing Twitter and other accounts. I have used them for years.

  5. CarolineRHenley says:

Thank you so much for including Falcon Social, Lee! We’re proud of being a unified tool, allowing companies to listen, publish, analyze all in one place.

  7. raojenkins says:

What about http://www.scoop.it ? My husband uses it to syndicate his blog across multiple channels — Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn.

    • Scoop.it is a fine content curation tool. Not sure it’s a dedicated social media marketing management tool though. I am having our blog editor visit this question. Thanks for asking.

  8. What about user generated content sites like http://www.pixlee.com/? aka. collecting on-brand customer photos and displaying them on a brand’s product pages to drive sales.

  9. Suggestion: http://new.mobitile.com – a new generation cloud platform for social media. The platform is an aggregator of Internet services, allowing the interconnection of social networks, blogs, news resources, etc. to filter and segregate their feeds into customized topical streams. … and much more.

  10. Nathan Betters says:

If you are looking for a platform that not only monitors negative feedback for relationship management, but scheduled posting across multiple platforms in one click, social sweepstakes, shopping, and more checkout http://www.socialmn.com they offer a 3 month free trial, as well as a no worry guarentee.

  11. Platforms for delayed posting are very useful for smm-managers to control their time and to escape from monkey job. Buffer and Hootsuite are giants in autoposting but there are some startups you need to know: kuku.io – one of my discoveries. It’s the simpliest service (now it’s free all the more) i know for delayed posting and it gives your a possibility to transform your content by each social net you work with. It is connected with Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter.

  12. This is great list. I wonder have you ever tried Brand24 for social listening and internet monitoring? I think it will be helpful and worth trying. There is really nice feedback, this is easy to use and affordable tool with a free trial. Check it out 🙂

  13. Delta Technologies says:

Thanks for providing such beautiful list. Thanks for posting……

  14. Geogia Jorden says:

Hello, It’s a well researched article… however, I am surprised that you guys have not included Sociota in your list… it’s a new platform… but very rich with features… you must consider including it in this list.

    • RanaSimon17 says:

Thank you for mentioning this tool, Georgia. I’ve been looking for a tool that allows up to 10 profiles on their free version, and the pricing for large packages is great! Looks like just the tool I was looking for. 🙂

  15. Mukul Gupta says:

I would suggest you to take a look at Crowdvirality (https://crowdvirality.com/) which is a new age social media management tool. It exposes multiple features like unlimited scheduling, publishing, listening and team collaboration features. Take a look at different plans (https://crowdvirality.com/plans) and products (https://crowdvirality.com/solutions) which are available.

  16. All of the them seem really good tools but I miss some interesting features like posting different content in different social media networks, repeating the content on time, segmenting the audience or collaboration between companies. I have been using recently http://www.ladderr.com and it is a amazing tool to manage all your social media.

  17. Influence marketing has transformed into a much bigger part of the mode that successful brands approach digital commerce. It is starting to become one of the largest, although not one of social media platforms out there.

  18. Stephanie Landman says:

Are there any dashboards that support the smaller social media sites like Vine, Vimeo, VK and Tagged?

  19. Marco Di Bree says:

Great list, thanks! What I think most social media managers are looking for is features such as creating multiple profiles, bulk scheduling and task assignment. From a purely practical point of view, I would say Buffer is on top.

  20. You’ve mentioned most of the tools of social media marketing which help in SEO Social media marketing in SEO

  21. Nice and great list of social media tools.

  22. Nibha Chaudhuri says:

Hey Lee! Great list you’ve made. If I could make a suggestion, have you checked out DrumUp? It’s a great tool for social media management, content curation and scheduling. Check it out here: https://drumup.io/. Please consider adding it to your list if you find it interesting.

  23. These are the wonderful website and I have also see a new social media management tool website that is http://smarlypost.com….

  24. Thanks for the list! I think the most important feature I am looking for, is the ability to track which accounts have already had a certain post, so that account will never have the same post, posted twice. How are other agencies tackling this issue? does any software have this feature?
