Study Hints at Long-Term Siri Threat to Google in Mobile
A new study suggests that Siri only answers queries using Google data 30% of the time in iOS6, compared to 60% in iOS5. Siri is more likely to rely to Yelp and the new Apple Maps data to answer local queries. Although the percentage of mobile searched performed from Siri compared to Google is still minuscule, if Apple continues to invest in Siri it could pose a long term threat to Google’s search dominance, particularly in the local space.  Via Search Engine Land.

    I thought Mark Zuckerberg’s comment, that asking before sharing photos is not a privacy issue, it’s just human decency, was *hilarious!* This happens ALL THE TIME and Facebook are constantly making it easier for people to take content from others and see what should be private by changing privacy settings. Yet it wasn’t on his radar until it happened in his family. Hope this is a lesson learned that makes Facebook more empathetic to user concerns.

    • I guess some things need to hit home (literally) before they become important enough to change. I noticed to day that Facebook is prompting users to review what other people can see on your profile, feed, etc. It should go without saying that they should have done that with every change made to privacy and sharing settings.

    • As a precautionary measure I have my Facebook set to notify me any time someone tags me in a post or photo and I have to approve before I can be tagged. Unfortunately it doesn’t keep the photo from entering their feed, but I can keep it out of mine! 🙂

  4. Funny Randi Zuckerberg how FB can screw up privacy and not care for how long and now that it affects you personally we are supposed to ask nicely to share stuff you messed up.
