Interview with Lee Odden
We like to ask each member of the TopRank Marketing team to share a few things about their life and career you may find interesting. We asked Lee:
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
“I grew up in a very rural environment so anything that would give me the opportunity to explore, be creative and work with interesting people in some place far away was appealing. My interests in school were sports intermingled with working on the school newspaper, yearbook and participating in the art club. This was before the internet, so I guess those early publishing and creative interests were a great basis for my current role with our marketing agency.”
iPhone, Blackberry or Android?
“The only one that’s fun to use: iPhone.”
If you had to pick one piece of your career and could only do that one thing for the rest of your life, which would it be and why?
“I do enjoy solving marketing problems for clients with creative ideas, data and the ability to experiment and refine. That would be very satisfying to me for a very long time.”
What’s the bravest, most challenging thing you’ve accomplished?
“Writing a book in 3 months comes to mind, but probably the decision to forego a salary and help start a technology marketing agency during a time (2001) when investments in technology and marketing were nearly non-existent. We’ve come a long way since then with the help of an amazing group of people, especially my business partner Susan Misukanis and our Executive Director of Operations, Jolina Pettice. ”
What one thing could you not live without?
“Not one, but 3 amazing, smart, funny, creative and genuinely good hearted kids.”
