Monday Link-O-Rama!

Link posts are few and far between but there’s plenty to link to today with all the announcements at ad:tech and on the SEM web in general.

Monetizing the Conversation. BuzzLogic has announced their “Conversation Targeting” service, which enables the keyword driven monitoring of interlinking between blogs and other social media sites to uncover emerging “communities”. Once the “influencers” have been identified, you can use BuzzLogic’s interface via the Google API to place contextual or display ads on the sites of influence. There’s also a whole set of influencer management tools that allow you to conduct blogger relations and manage other outreach tasks.

I was able to see a demo on Friday of this new feature and am writing up a more extensive review of BuzzLogic along with 3 other social media monitoring tools this week.

A TopRank client that we do some online PR work for and that has been involved with the search marketing industry for quite a while is topseos.com. Our listing and also the ranking of TopRank as a search engine optimization agency on topseos.com has been a significant source of direct traffic for us.

Bill Peden of topseos.com recently gave the heads up that the site has been revamped offering new features for companies researching internet marketing services including a press releases area, a jobs area and knowledge base.

For member internet marketing companies and services, there are also a number of enhancements ranging from inclusion in the directory, advertising options and consideration for what topseos.com became well known for, ranking the top search engine optimization firms. The actual services are based on your membership level.

Ranking SEO Firms

Comments | Posted by Lee Odden on Mar 1st, 2006 in Business of SEO, SEO, TopRank News |

Today I received emails from two different SEO firm ranking lists that have ranked my SEO firm, TopRank in the top 5. One from topseos.com where TopRank was ranked #4 and the other from PromotionWorld.com where we were ranked #4 again. Bruce Clay did quite well in both as well.

At first this seems pretty cool, but I am wondering how potential clients preceive it? I know it pisses some SEOs off, which most lists are prone to do. But I really don’t care what other SEO firms think. What comes to mind is how subjective such rankings are. Here are the editorial/review policies for both lists:

Promotion World:

“The Top 10 SEO Company Awards are based on the offered services, package diversity, value, customer service, feedback and website popularity of the selected companies.
